Iain Rankin's Songs
I have been writing songs most of my life and every now and then I record them and sometimes even do a gig or two. Most of my songs are on CD and not available online except you can get "Out Of Nowhere" and Rankin File "For The Record"recorded on Greentrax easily online. The purpose of this website is to give you free and easy access to the rest of my songs. Feel free to download or stream to your hearts content. These days I write for the love of the art and have no commercial aspirations. Enjoy
Bio
Born in Scotland and grew up in Canada. Was a part of the folk revival in the 60's and 70's in Toronto and Edinburgh. Toured extensively in Britain and Europe with his band Rankin File. Played many folk festivals in Canada, Britain and Denmark including the Mariposa Folk Festival . Over the years he shared the stage with Joni Mitchell, Ian and Sylvia, Phil Ochs, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Tommy Makem, The Humblebums, Gerry Rafferty, The McCalmans, Barbara Dickson , Ralph McTell , Kathy Stewart, Aly Bain to name a few.
